I can only do one of these, since they are both time-consuming and I have other demands on my time (namely, a husband and a 2-year-old). I'd like the money, but I also would like the prestige of the journal. Thanks for your thoughts!

It also depends on what you want to do after you graduate from law school. Do you want to clerk for a judge? If so, they may prefer law journal.

my brother has 6 units in child development, and we cant figure out what to put down under objective?
i dont know kat, i was asking myself the same question……i really like the second one lfahn25 provided.

Not sure what you exactly mean here. I think anyone who wants to work with children, man or woman should want to because they enjoy children and want to help them learn in an age appropriate environment.

I am applying for a job as a virtual administrative assistant. Currently I am the administrative assistant for my husband’s nightclub. Could somebody help me word my duties so that it sounds more professional? I do all the communications between the club and customers and vendors, I schedule employee schedules, I order supplies needed, I prepare our daily cash reports, I deposit the money and keep record of what checks were written out, prepare payroll for the accountant, and maintain the nightclub’s myspace, facebook, and website. I would really appreciate if somebody could help me.

I used this resume writing service in my area, this is there website: http://www.resumeworld1.com you should try them, it only cost me $35.00 and I got a great job from this new resume, I never thought about the format that they use but the turn around time was less then 24 hrs. I would have to say it was the best service I have ever used and it was worth every dime. Also they let me pay through Pay Pal.

hi.

currently i am studying at fashion school, enrolled in fashion styling program and i want to work as a fashion stylist atssistant.

i see some of the fashion stylists want to see my resume and experienced portfolio but i do not have any.

i am a high school graduate and will be going to school this fall.

so here is my question, for my resume how should i write my education part?

i mean, writing down the high school name only seems too lacking.

so do you think i should write down my elementary , junior high school too just to fill in the space?

if you know the proper way of writing resume please let me know, i will greatly appreciate it.

and if you know how to build a portfolio for stylist and assistant let me know as well please.

(if i can use photos that i took myself can be my portfolio; professional photogragher are needed or not )

and i am thinking of becoming a fashion stylist without any degree, but i will take classes as i work.

I didn't know that being a fashion stylist assistant required a resume.

Don't strive to be an assistant. Go to school so you can be the best fashion stylists you can.

I'm also looking at a career change. I don't know what a good objective would be for this type of position.
It's for a a position at company that purifies water to make it safe to drink. It's called untied water.

You do not say what field the staff assistant is assisting in.
Hospital? Advertising agency? Financial company?
What kind of job are you seeking?
Look up resumes on the web. The objective is being
fazed out as a resume component.
What is most important is to say what you can bring
to the job and to say it all in a single page. Use power
verbs. Do not inflate your abilities. Never say you are a
"people person", that's the kiss of death. Mention any projects that DEMONSTRATE you can work well on a team.
Your experience should say what you have accomplished in your previous jobs. How you made a difference.
Clarity is key and you should work on this as your question
is too vague to answer intelligently.

Having prepared your best for your dream job interview, it would feel pretty bad to miss out something trivial which has the potential to “make or break” your candidacy. There are many things that can cause a serious negative impact in the eyes of your potential employer. Because you should not leave your job search to chance, it is best to have a checklist of things to do and carry to the interview and follow it.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your best foot is put forward. Your preperation will not only shine through on the day of your intereview, but it will show your professionalism to your possible future employer.

General Checklist

1.Do you have a neat haircut and did you shave?
2.Do you have your suit pressed and cleaned?
3.Are your shoes shined?

Checklist of Things to Carry

1.Always have extra copies of your resume
2.Have photocopies of your credentials, including your school certificates and any other certificates of professional training you may have
3.Keep a neat notepad and a good pen
4.A copy of your application with cover letter
5.Your references neatly typed on resume paper
6.Instructions on how to reach the interview location including whom to meet and at what time
7.A list of expected questions and a list of questions you want to ask the interviewer

After you are finished with the above list, you are almost done with your preparation. You should then check the following:

1.Check the directions if you are traveling by car. Also get the car and the spare tire serviced beforehand.
2.If you are traveling by airplane, keep the tickets handy and check the times again
3.Read your resume and cover letter again on your way to the recruiter’s office or at the office. Don’t forget to read the job advertisement again also.
4.Quietly try to recollect your subject knowledge
5.Losing your confidence in the interviewer’s office will immediately remove you from the list of potential candidates. Try to remember how well you have prepared for the interview.
6.Recollect whatever information you have gathered about the organization.

When you get to the interview location, be patient and tell the receptionist or assistant that you have come for the interview. Wait in the lounge if you are asked to. You can strike up small talk with fellow interviewees if there are any. Better still, you can browse through journals or magazines available. These are all parts of showing the interviewer your personality and how it is suited for the job.
